Dea. Samuel Stone was born in 1631 in Nayland, Suffolk, England to Dea. Gregory Stone (1590 - 1672) and died on 27 Sep 1715 in Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, North America. He was baptized on 4 Feb 1630/31 in Nayland, County Suffolk County, England. He arrived in 1635 in Massachusetts, North America with his father's family. He is buried in Old Burying Ground in Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA. He was admitted a freeman on 6 May 1657 of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, North America. He married on 7 Jun 1655 in New England, North America to Sarah Stearns (1635 - 1700).
Facts and Occupation[]
He was very prominent in religious affairs. In Oct 1654 he served as a soldier in a company of sixty men under Maj. Simon Willard on a sixteen day expedition into Rhode Island against Ninigret, sachem of the Niantic Indians. He served on various committees and in 1673, 1681, 1688 and 1692 he was a Selectman. In 1694, 1697 and 1698 he was Assessor. His estate was worth nearly 1,000 pounds, which was a considerable amount in those days.
